As a member-owned cooperative, democratic member control is of the utmost importance to CCEC, as it is one of the seven cooperative principles. We are, owned by the members we serve and voting plays a crucial part in our representative democracy.
Members have equal voting rights (one member, one vote) and should exercise those member-owner rights by voting on bylaw changes and board member representation. Member participation and input is vital not only to the success of CCEC but to ensure we meet your needs and expectations.
Safe, reliable, and affordable electricity, as well as Beacon Broadband, are just a few of the areas demanding our focus. The board of directors elected by members use bylaws that govern and direct all decisions for CCEC.
When members choose not to vote, they also miss the opportunity to choose their representation for issues that matter the most.
So please consider getting out and voting in this election!
Voting Information:
2022 Director Election- This year three positions on the CCEC board are up for election at the 2022 Annual Meeting and Director Election, scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Voting in the Election- Election ballots are arriving in mailboxes starting May 16, 2022.
CCEC encourages all members to cast votes in this election. Although directors live in a specific geographic district, they represent all members in all districts. This means members may cast a vote for a director in each district and not just their own. Directors serve in geographic districts to ensure adequate accessibility for members and to provide a representation of that area in their leadership role.
Ballots must be received by June 13, 2022, to ensure your vote is counted.
